SUMMARY:Jack Crimmins\, Writers Read Ukiah
DESCRIPTION:Writers Read Ukiah last Thursday poetry series will meet on Thursday\, October 30\, at 7 PM at the Grace Hudson Museum in Ukiah. The featured reader is Jack Crimmins of Santa Rosa. \nJack Crimmins lives in Sonoma County and is the author of six books of poetry. His first book\, “Kit Fox Blues”\, was published with an introduction by Beat poet Diane di Prima. His recent books are “The Edge of Rain”\, “Jazz Midnight” and a book of short poems\, “Wilderness and Time”. Jack has been the featured poet in many of Lynn V. Andrews’ books on cross-cultural shamanism. He worked early on as a wilderness guide and then for many years as a licensed psychotherapist\, mostly with adolescents in community mental health. Jack’s poems are concerned with people\, landscape and spirit. \nOpen mic session will follow the featured reading. Maximum time for each reader is five or six minutes\, depending. Event will end at 9 PM\, so plan accordingly. \nFor Information\, contact Writers Read Ukiah MC Michael Riedell\, innisfreeriedell@gmail.com \nWriters Read happens on the last Thursday of almost every month and has been happening in Ukiah since 1999. This reading series is sponsored by Colored Horse Studios\, Michael Riedell\, Susanna Jannsen\, an anonymous local writer\, the Poet Laureate Committee of Ukiah\, the Grace Hudson Museum\, and your donations.  We operate on a shoestring budget and our laces are breaking\, so give generously. Contact Michael—innisfreeriedell@gmail.com—if you can help. Thanks.
