DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, June 9th at 2 pm\, Felicia Rice’s Currents exhibit will host a poetry reading featuring Mendocino Coast Writers Conference Short Fiction Award winner Phannarai Inkun. \nCurrents Exhibit Dates: Saturday\, June 8 to Sunday\, June 9\, 2024\nExhibit Hours: 11 to 4 pm \nThere is also a reception for the exhibit on Saturday\, June 8 from 5–8 pm as part of Second Saturday in Mendocino. \nStatement from artist Felicia Rice on the exhibit:\nMy parents were active members of a vibrant arts community here in Mendocino when I was a summer kid going to their classes at the Mendocino Arts Center. I graduated from Mendocino High in the early 70s as the area was flooding with young people eager to build a new vibrant community. I have returned to town after 50 years to discover that the arts have taken a backseat to commerce. I miss seeing the arts celebrated all over town\, in every nook and cranny\, particularly on Main Street. So I thought I’d scratch that itch of mine.
