Call for Nominations: Poet Laureate of Ukiah 2016–2018 Term

Who is eligible to serve as Poet Laureate of Ukiah: Any adult who lives within the Ukiah Unified School District, and is an active published poet.

Selection Criteria: Prospective Poets Laureate will be evaluated based on the demonstrated skill of their craft, their publishing credits, experience presenting poetry in public, and experience in community work.

Selection Process: Members of the public are invited to send nominations for prospective Poets Laureate to P.O. Box 865, Ukiah, CA 95482 or email to bookem@pacific.net. The Poet Laureate committee will contact the nominees to request a representative sample of their work, a brief list of their recent publications, and a short statement regarding what they would like to accomplish as Poet Laureate. The committee will then screen the nominees and invite the most qualified for an interview. Based on the materials submitted, and the interview, the committee will recommend a new Poet Laureate for the Ukiah City Council’s approval.
