David Partch, Writers Read Ukiah

Writers Read Ukiah last Thursday poetry series will meet on Thursday, November 20 (a week early due to Thanksgiving), at 7 PM at the Grace Hudson Museum in Ukiah. The featured reader is David Partch.

David Eugene Partch is a singer-songwriter-poet from Willits. He has been featured at several venues in the Bay Area, as well as Mendocino County. He studied Anthropology at UC Berkeley, where he witnessed the Free Speech Movement. He later studied Philosophy at UC Santa Barbara and saw the Bank of America burn. He travelled to Germany in 1971, where he ended up staying for 14 years and completed a dissertation on Kant’s ethics. Returning to California, he eventually slipped into a career in computers which ended at Adobe Systems. In retirement he learned about Permaculture and rediscovered poetry. He has published 3 books of poetry which can be found on Amazon.

Open mic session will follow the featured reading. Maximum time for each reader is five or six minutes, depending. Event will end at 9 PM, so plan accordingly.
