The Light and the Dark
Art Exhibit – Paulo Ferreira

Tierra: Art, Garden, Wine
November 2009Local artist Paulo Ferreira steers us from the bright light of late summer into the crepuscular darkness of winter in his new show “The Light and The Dark.” Comprised mostly of canvases with oil and wax, the light paintings have the emotional warmth of fleeting summer memories–more sensory undertones than falling leaves buried in the depths of textured wax and paint. The dark paintings evoke sheltered mystery: “What is that luminous arc? An interplanetary eclipse? First light advancing over Cow Mountain?” If you find yourself needing to “rage against the dying of the light” come in and warm your soul with this artistic journey. Tierra – Art, Garden, Wine is located at 312 N School St. in downtown Ukiah. Please call (707) 468-7936 for details.
